Designed by Architects Kathryn McCamant and Charles Durrett (McCamant & Durrett) c.1980, the Cedar Lodge Condominiums have stood the test of time as an excellent example of 'co-housing', a type of collaborative housing which 'encourages both social contact and individual space, where residents have common access to facilities such as courtyards and open space'.The complex features a central courtyard with a private park complete with trails, picnic tables and barbeque pits, a most unique feature in today's condominium-development frenzy, where open space is supplanted by bottom-line square footage.
